Hi chronic pain suffers of the world. I would like to introduce you to some information I feel is very relevant to assisting you in the struggles of pain. This is a very important and aggravating issue in many peoples mind.

Over the years I myself have had to deal with this problem all too often. I have tried everything under the sun to make the pain just go away. But, this is easier said than done. I have come to believe that all of those trips to the doctor’s office were just a waste of time. Well, let me reassess that, it was not a total waste of time. I did get a chance to lie there in that hospital bed and get a lot of attention. But, even that is short lived and soon disappears.

I later found out that no one and I mean no one knows exactly what you go through suffering from chronic pain. This is entirely a problem only the person who has been through it understands the amount of pain and distress one exhibits. I remember once my grandmother telling me, “baby” she said, “no one understands your pains but you”. They may say they know that it must really be bothering you, but it is all a cover they really do not understand and then she always finishes it with “no body really knows but you”. I held that saying near and dear to my heart every since she uttered those words and found it to be the most truthful thing anyone has ever said to me in my entire life. She is no longer with the living anymore and I miss her greatly, but I can still hear her voice today saying those words.

I come to believe that if a person who has been through the aches and pains of some type of surgery, truly has to have a strong foundation or continence as my other grandmother would say. I hate to have a grandmother session, but you know how wise older people can be. She too is no longer with us. I have been suffering through chronic pains for some 20 years or so now. I have also had my share of surgeries (four low back and three cervical) surgeries. I don’t claim to be an expert on the subject, STOP, actually, I would indeed claim to be an expert on the subject. In fact I would think this makes me an authority on the matter.

This is the reason I am writing this for other people like myself to hear. I have experienced a lot of discomforts during these procedures and I have learned a lot about myself. There comes a time when you have to say to yourself, okay, this is enough. I have been researching chronic pain cure using mind-body healing techniques. I think the mind is a very powerful weapon on everything you experience in this world and I also believe what the mind can believe it can be achieved. I have found great relief in letting myself be in control of my pain.

I think back over the years all that I have been exposed to during these painful spots in my life and have come to the conclusion that this is your life. So, you will just have to take control of it and stop letting others, which by the way have no clue (unless they are chronic pain sufferers themselves) as to what you are going through. People have a way of telling you things that they really do not mean. It is there way of saying yeah, yeah, I know your pain is bothering you, so what else is new. When you have gone through this enough, believe me, you do not even bother to tell anyone how my aches and pains feels. At this point you feel as though you have had enough pity for a life time. Who needs it and besides you may be doing a lot better than most of those people anyway.

A Holistic Approach to Hemorrhoids

Posted by admin in Prescription Pain Killers on September 14th, 2009

Hemorrhoid relief from your itching, pain, and bleeding is the hope driving many sufferers to the nearest drugstore. Often relief comes from a popular salve containing chemicals that when applied does soothe the area. Yet, the hemorrhoids remain, only to return again as soon as you stop using the salve. The symptoms may have been subdued temporarily and you may think that you have found a hemorrhoid cure, but the underlying causes are still there. What you need is a holistic approach to eliminating hemorrhoids by finding and treating all the fundamental causes.

Of course, you do need immediate relief from the itching, burning and pain. If you are concerned about all the chemicals used in some hemorrhoid products, you may want to turn to more wholesome natural ingredients. Looking to nature to find a healing herb, you will find that one of best herbs is the comfrey plant which contains allantoin. Allantoin is an amazing ingredient that speeds the production of new cells to replace the damaged ones. The comfrey herb has been known for centuries to relieve pain and inflammation of burns, eczemas, and other skin irritations. If it is used in an ointment with all other natural ingredients, the comfrey herb is especially effective at reducing the inflammation of hemorrhoids. With the soothing effect of the ointment, you can concentrate on the other causes of your hemorrhoids.

Eating more fiber and drinking six to eight glasses of water daily will help you regulate your digestive system and avoid constipation, a primary cause of hemorrhoids. Adding beneficial herbal supplements to your meals will aid your digestion and shrink the hemorrhoids internally as another line of defense. A helpful herb is butcher’s broom that has been used since ancient times to improve circulation, tighten the circulatory system’s veins, and strengthen capillary walls. It is particularly helpful in shrinking hemorrhoids internally. Other helpful herbs which aid the digestive system are stone root, marshmallow root, slippery elm bark, red root and peppermint. A final step in a natural hemorrhoid treatment program is cleansing the anal canal with water from a rectal bulb, removing the impurities and toxins which irritate the hemorrhoids.

A holistic solution can eliminate hemorrhoids from your life forever if you are willing to treat all the factors that have led to your problem. Using a home treatment system with natural ingredients and committing to lifestyle changes is the best way to treat your hemorrhoids and restore your health.

Working mostly on the computer is not usually very taxing for the body and so in theory we should be spending every evening either at the gym or at least in some activity that exercises the heart and stretches those muscles.

It is a common complaint for people in my business to get aches and pains around the joints and especially in the shoulders and neck area.

For me the pain had become unbearable when ever I stretched out my arms in a yawn or just reached to plug in my computer -but there is hope for anyone in the same situation because this was taken away in just two visits to Portsmouth Massage in the UK. It is a tri-sports massage specialist but I discovered that you don’t have to be a sportsman or sportswoman to benefit from a sports massage.

I approached Paul Hickman?because I was in great pain when I was doing the most ordinary of everyday jobs. The pain took me completely by surprise when just putting on a shirt or changing a light bulb or anything which involved stretching out the arms.

Paul’s initial investigation found that sitting at the computer had caused several muscles to contract and there had been damage in two areas where I had stupidly attempted some weight training - which was just too much for those untrained muscles.

Paul was able to give a powerful massage which pushed deep into the muscles in my shoulders and chest to stretch the short muscles and get the blood flowing efficiently through the local blood vessels.

Advice for computer based working

So here is some advice if your work causes you to be sitting at a computer most of the time. They are easy to do at any time but even more effective if you have warmed up a little by going for a lunchtime walk or some light lifting exercises.

Stretch!? Lengthen those under-used muscles by some simple stretching exercises. These are what I did after the massage sessions:

1.? Cross your arms at the elbow in front of you and use the lower elbow to pull the other arm up under the chin towards the shoulder. Hold for 15 seconds keeping the pressure on (but don’t bounce).Repeat for the other arm.

2.? Stand straight in a doorway and put your elbow high on the frame parallel to your chest. Push the elbow up the frame for 15 seconds. Repeat for the other arm.

3. Stand as if you were on parade with your hands held behind your back and chest pushed out. Use one hand to pull the other arm further round and hold. Repeat.

Of course your masseur would recommend what would be best for you.

Deep massage requires great strength from the masseur. Paul Hickman competes in the incredibly demanding sport of Iron Man which pushes you to the absolute limits of swimming; cycling and marathon running, (hence the tri-sports part of the company name).

This training gives Paul the strength and stamina to massage the torso’s of whole rugby teams in one session!

But for me, the massage together with the recommended stretching exercises completely removed the pain and gave back full movement that had been restricted for so long.

Its a good lesson for us all.
